Thank You for 2018

Hello again everyone,

It was so good to be back for 2018 and I had a great burn and a fun time taking photos with the cart again. It’s always fun meeting everyone who comes up for a portrait.

I seriously needed to be at home this year as it’s been a rough summer. I’m feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready for the next in my many adventures. If you’re interested in keeping in touch I would LOVE that.

I’m also on Instagram and Twitter as well so feel free to add me.

Thank you all for being part of my amazing 2018 burn and I hope to see you all soon!
Cheers and beers,
Wayne

P.S. – If any of you are interested in my photography you can find it here.

iRobot – Returning to Black Rock City for 2018!

After a two year hiatus away from our dusty city myself and the photo cart are returning for 2018!

It really didn’t look like it was going to happen as money and life events weren’t co-operating but as it can sometimes, things turned around. Part of the reason I can make it this year is that my nephew Styles is coming with me, his first burn and it’ll be awesome to show him the word we know outside the world we also know. Hopefully many of you can meet him.

The cart will be out and about whenever the wind isn’t too crazy. It’s still silver and will have the same lights on it so if you see me, come on by for a portrait.
Cheers everyone and we’ll see you next week!

Much Love,
Wayne

2015 and 2016

Just a little update in case anyone is curious. I attended the burn in 2015 and brought along the cart etc but somewhere along the line I forgot one of my bins containing some of my lighting in my storage locker in Fallon. This was fixed when a fellow camp member had to head into Fernley and we were able to pick it up. Then the dust happened. Every time I wanted to go out it was just a little too dusty. As well, I had other photo related things happening. Even though the cart didn’t make an appearance I was still able to gift an engagement shoot and also a wedding on Sunday. It was still a great burn all around.

That said, as it stands right now I won’t be making it to the burn this year. As much as I seriously do want to go I have other things that the money will be better spent on. In April I will be leaving my full-time day job of 4+ years to venture out and pursue my photography full time which includes trying to gain some traction for FotosForward as well as a few other personal projects I have. I’ve been saving and preparing for years and the time has come. Add to that the rapid decline of the value of the Canadian dollar and it looks like I’ll be spending my time in Canada this year.

If you’re curious to see where I’m at after April 1st, you can follow along with my adventures at Wayne On The Road .com.

I hope to maybe see you all in 2017, Burn bright my friends,

W.

Taking This Idea Into the Real World

After all the love and appreciation for the photos I gift to you guys I am trying to take this into the real world. I’ve done all the work, graphic design, website, cards, social media, press releases and more and launched Fotos Forward

If started locally to lukewarm reception but I know there are people out there I can create great memories for. I just have to get out there and find them. I’m currently running an Indiegogo campaign to raise gas money to get this project generating some interest and create photos for people.  I need your help to make it happen. My social network just isn’t big enough yet and with out people supporting/sharing it it just won’t happen. I can only do so much with my minimal personal funds but could do so much more with a little extra.

Isn’t our culture about making a bigger difference? Let’s do this!

Thank you and I hope to see you all in a few months!

This Gift, inspired THIS gift (taking the portraits into the real world)

As I get excited for the 2014 burn (even though I have yet to get a ticket so please keep me in your thoughts) I want to share with all of you something that I need your help with. In 2015 I will be 100% out of debt and I intend to do another long amazing road trip for my photography. While evaluating how my last two went I realized that I did somewhat miss more human interaction. Then I started thinking of a project I could do along with my normal photography. Surprisingly this idea didn’t come as easy as one would think but when the lightbulb finally went off it was obvious. Take the gift of photography on the road.

The details took awhile to work out as I didn’t want to just give photos away to anyone who asked but once I realized who this new project is for it became easy. The hard part was putting it all together.

As I write this it’s currently in it’s infant stages, website freshly launched with one photography session booked. I need all your help to spread the word in hopes that once I’m on the road traveling, it will go viral and I can give photos for years to come. Don’t worry, I still plan on being at Burning Man with my camera as well.

To see the project that was inspired by all of you please visit www.fotosforward.com and spread the word.

Much Love,

Waayne
